This is a sad news to all Filipino, the courageous former president Corazon Cojuanco Aquino died last saturday, August 1, 2009 at 3:18am in Makati Medical Center. The main cause of her death was cardio-respiratory arrest while inflicted with a colon cancer for 16 months.
A word from senator Aquino:
Our mother peacefully passed away at 3: 18 a.m., August 1, 2009, of cardio-respiratory arrest. She would have wanted us to thank each and everyone of you for all your continued love and support. It was her wish for all of us to pray for one another and for our country. Hinihiling po ng aming pamilya ang konting panahon para makasama namin ang aming mahal na ina,"
The family of the former president agreed to have a private funeral rather than a state funeral. The funeral will be this wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Manila Memorial Park. Her body will be buried beside her husband Benigno Aquino.
